Don’t Miss The All Star Cast in “American Soul”, the Origin Story of Soul Train

Seeing contemporary singers such as Kelly Rowland as Gladys Knight, Michelle Williams as Diana Ross, and K. Michelle as Martha Reeves is just one of the pleasures of "American Soul," the BET drama that's set in 1971 and tells the origin story of "Soul Train."

The series stars Sinqua Walls from the Starz hit "Power" as Don Cornelius, the producer behind the landmark syndicated dance show that featured African-American artists and dancers and left a deep imprint on popular culture. Thorough and engaging, it presents an era when Black people responded to dishonesty, greed, and racism with music, dance, and fashion.

“American Soul” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. eastern /8 p.m. central on BET. Catch up on episodes and see more details here.
