A Thought About Black Music Month From Soul Trail Cruise Executive Producer Michael Mitchell

As Executive Producer of the Soul Train Cruise, I try each year to live up to and even surpass the experience of the previous year’s cruise. That is no easy task as we have had so much fun and excitement over the years, and had so many superstar artists join us. We must be on the right track as we are over 80% sold and approaching another sold-out cruise for 2017. The word of mouth about the amazing time had by all continues to spread. If you haven’t booked yet, or have friends or family that want to join this amazing experience, don’t miss the boat - call one of our friendly reservationists at 844-718-7246 or click here to book your cabin today.

As we celebrate Black Music Month, let’s take a moment to remember some of the icons of R&B we lost this year including Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Natalie Cole, Prince, and Billy Paul. They were some of the most innovative and unique artists in R&B history. For all of us fans of classic R&B, losing these legends makes our time together with them each year on the Soul Train Cruise even more special. The opportunity to see them, do their thing, in an intimate setting is priceless. Their legacy will continue and they will be sorely missed.

With that said, I am so excited about this year’s line-up with Kool & the Gang, Chaka Khan, Commodores, CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, Peabo Bryson, The S.O.S Band, Midnight Star, Alexander O’Neal & Cherelle, Thelma Houston, Third World, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes, The Intruders, Melba Moore, The Sounds of Blackness doing our Gospel Show as well as the other stellar performers. We are getting all of the details in place for the 24/7 programming and gearing up for another special week on the Hippest Trip at Sea. I’m looking forward to you joining us!
