A Letter from Your Cruise Host Tony Cornelius

We’re officially in the heat of the summer and working hard to plan a real hip 7^th sailing of the Soul Train Cruise. I’ve been working with the StarVista LIVE team to come up with new and exciting activities and theme nights that will make the 2018 cruise the best sailing yet. We loved getting your feedback and ideas in the last newsletter’s Theme Nights survey and will be sharing what we have planned very soon.

I’m thrilled to share that the 2018 Soul Train Cruise is already 90% sold and will be sure to sell out very soon. We have our dedicated alumni, hardworking staff and of course our star-studded lineup to thank for this. Just as my father did, we will bring you the very best in R&B and Classic Soul music, but with the exciting twist of being on the high seas and allowing you all to interact with, even rub elbows with, these music superstars.

I personally look forward to this sailing in particular, as many of the artists are near and dear to my heart. In this issue of the 411 you’ll get to hear from a very good friend of mine, Howard Hewett. My friendship with Howard goes back to his Shalamar days with Jodie Watley and Jeffrey Daniel. As a matter of fact, Soul Train was Shalamar's launching pad. My father was very fond of Howard, they too had a very special relationship over the years. Howard has always been an amazing talent and there for us from the beginning. When it comes to singing, there are many, however, Howard has one of those voices that separates itself from all the rest, not to mention his many hits and collaborations. One of my favorite songs in his collection is "Amen", a song that sums up who Howard is inside and out. I hope you all are just as excited as I am to have him perform on the 2018 Soul Train Cruise.
